1 . GENERAL INFORMATION .

The ceramic department has initiated in the 1990-1991 academic year with undergraduate program (BSc). And also graduate program (MSc) in the Department of Ceramic has been start since year 2000.

With the ceramics education program, infrastructure of pre-license, license and graduate programs are realized. Also uniformity in the university education program would be achieved. The students,  who complete pre-license program successfully, they can register for undergraduate program in ceramic department. And also after finalization in under-graduation study, they can also continuation their graduate program.

Ceramic department has been developed some efficient co-operation with others sub-divisions (like Archaeomethry, Archaeology, Soil Science, chemistry, physics, geology and Environmental Engineering) for solving current problems and also for applied education.

2 . Currýculum .

Ceramic department has been started graduate education program in academic year 1999-2000. Since from 1999, 2 students has been graduate. 4 more student still continuation their MSc study. Also who complete their study in ceramic department employed by ceramic department.

It has long been recognised that design is a major factor determining the value of a product in today’s international composition. Further, the socio-economic contribution of ceramic design is becoming larger by the day, and studies in this field are being carried out with vigour. Focusing upon abstraction, probability and possibility, a learning method that breaks away from rigid framework and contains specific educational contents embraces.

5. Course Descrýptýons and Master’s Thesýs.

 

The master degree program covers a minimum of four-and a maximum of six-semester academic period. The graduate students accepted to the program may begin taking courses after their proficiency in the English Language is determined by an examination. An academic advisor is assigned to each student and the student is required to complete a minimum of 12 credit hours of courses in the master of science program. The registration of students is renewed every semester. The list of courses to be taken is prepared under the guidance of the academic adviser and approved by the Department Head. The course work must be completed in two consecutive semesters. Graduate students are also required to give a seminar within their first year in the program. As a part of the degree program, a Master’s thesis is prepared and defended before a jury.
